The NEWBREED Charleston Triple Crown Series will take place on September 26, 2026, at the North Charleston Athletic Center. This event will include both gi and no-gi competitions.
Event Description
NEWBREED's Charleston stop in its Triple Crown Series follows the promotion's athlete-safety-first rules -- no submissions for Youth Group 1 (ages 4-11), skill-level brackets (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced) for no-gi, and belt-based grouping for gi, with any gi color permitted. The event takes place Saturday, September 26, 2026, at the North Charleston Athletic Center, 5794 Casper Padgett Way, North Charleston, SC. No external federation membership is required to compete. Registration closes the Tuesday before the event, with a final deadline the day before at 5pm, through the Smoothcomp link on this page.

About NEWBREED
NEWBREED (the NEWBREED Jiu-Jitsu Federation) is a US tournament circuit whose federation was established in 2012. It runs 100+ tournaments a year nationwide with kids-through-adult gi and no-gi divisions and digital bracket management, culminating in The Ultimate Grappler (TUG), its elite no-gi absolute finale.
Rules
NEWBREED runs a long-established tournament circuit (including its Ultimate Challenge events) with gi and no-gi divisions for kids and adults, grouped by age, weight, and experience level. It's a high-volume regional circuit that many competitors use for regular local competition.
NEWBREED publishes its own rulebook with an explicit emphasis on athlete safety, and technique legality scales with age and division level. Read the current NJJF rules before competing — division structures and legal techniques are spelled out there.
