Event Description
The NEWBREED Columbia Fall Championship carries the promotion's athlete-safety-first philosophy into South Carolina, with no submissions permitted in the 11-and-under Youth Group 1 division and a full competitive structure for teens and adults from there. Gi competitors are grouped by current belt rank, while no-gi divisions use NEWBREED's Beginner/Intermediate/Advanced experience tiers, and any gi color is welcome on the mat. The championship runs Saturday, November 14, 2026 at the Columbia Metro Convention Center, 1101 Lincoln St, in Columbia, SC. No outside federation membership is required to compete. About NEWBREED
NEWBREED (the NEWBREED Jiu-Jitsu Federation) is a US tournament circuit whose federation was established in 2012. It runs 100+ tournaments a year nationwide with kids-through-adult gi and no-gi divisions and digital bracket management, culminating in The Ultimate Grappler (TUG), its elite no-gi absolute finale.
Rules
NEWBREED runs a long-established tournament circuit (including its Ultimate Challenge events) with gi and no-gi divisions for kids and adults, grouped by age, weight, and experience level. It's a high-volume regional circuit that many competitors use for regular local competition.
NEWBREED publishes its own rulebook with an explicit emphasis on athlete safety, and technique legality scales with age and division level. Read the current NJJF rules before competing — division structures and legal techniques are spelled out there.
