Holy City Jiu Jitsu

Holy City Jiu Jitsu was founded to provide Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training that emphasizes safety and respect for practitioners of all ages, genders, and skill levels in Charleston. The academy focuses on guiding beginners through the fundamentals of the art while offering more experienced students opportunities to refine their techniques. The school aims to foster the core values of passion, respect, and humility that are central to BJJ, creating an environment where learning and personal growth go hand in hand. Training at Holy City includes gi classes structured around fundamentals as well as open-level sessions for adults, ensuring a clear progression for students as they develop their skills. No-gi classes are also available, complementing the traditional gi curriculum and allowing practitioners to experience different styles of grappling. For younger students, the academy offers a gi class for kids aged 8 to 14, introducing them to the art in a safe and age-appropriate setting. Open mat times are scheduled regularly, giving students space to drill, spar, or explore techniques outside of formal classes. The facility is wheelchair accessible, reflecting the school’s attention to inclusivity and accommodating a diverse range of practitioners. Drop-ins are accepted, making Holy City Jiu Jitsu accessible to visitors and those new to the area.
