December 5, 2026 in Savannah, Georgia brings the Newbreed Winter Championship, with gi and no-gi divisions spanning all belts. The event caps out Newbreed's fall-to-winter run of Southeast tournaments.
Newbreed brings its Winter Championship series to Savannah, Georgia, with a one-day gi and no-gi tournament open to competitors of every belt and age group. Newbreed built its reputation on athlete-safety-first rules — no submissions for the youngest kids divisions — while older youth, teens, and adults compete in standard belt-based gi brackets and experience-tiered no-gi divisions (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced). No outside federation membership is required, which keeps the event approachable for first-time competitors as well as seasoned veterans. The Savannah Winter Championship runs December 5, 2026. Registration is handled through Newbreed's Smoothcomp event page linked from Let's Roll, with the standard Tuesday-before-event deadline and a final cutoff the day before at 5pm. Competitors should register early, since Newbreed brackets by current belt for gi and by experience level for no-gi, and late changes aren't guaranteed.
NEWBREED (the NEWBREED Jiu-Jitsu Federation) is a US tournament circuit whose federation was established in 2012. It runs 100+ tournaments a year nationwide with kids-through-adult gi and no-gi divisions and digital bracket management, culminating in The Ultimate Grappler (TUG), its elite no-gi absolute finale.
NEWBREED runs a long-established tournament circuit (including its Ultimate Challenge events) with gi and no-gi divisions for kids and adults, grouped by age, weight, and experience level. It's a high-volume regional circuit that many competitors use for regular local competition.
NEWBREED publishes its own rulebook with an explicit emphasis on athlete safety, and technique legality scales with age and division level. Read the current NJJF rules before competing — division structures and legal techniques are spelled out there.
Always confirm the official rulebook before you compete — organizations update rules between seasons. See the official event page for current rules.
