Event Description

NEWBREED's Lansing Fall Championship brings the promotion's safety-conscious youth rules and skill-based no-gi divisions to mid-Michigan. The youngest kids (Youth Group 1, ages 4-11) compete without submissions, older kids and teens step up to fuller competition, and adults choose gi (by current belt, any gi color) or no-gi (sorted by self-rated Beginner/Intermediate/Advanced skill). This Fall Championship runs September 5, 2026 at Lansing City Arena, 904 Elmwood Rd, Lansing, MI. About NEWBREED

NEWBREED (the NEWBREED Jiu-Jitsu Federation) is a US tournament circuit whose federation was established in 2012. It runs 100+ tournaments a year nationwide with kids-through-adult gi and no-gi divisions and digital bracket management, culminating in The Ultimate Grappler (TUG), its elite no-gi absolute finale.

Rules

NEWBREED runs a long-established tournament circuit (including its Ultimate Challenge events) with gi and no-gi divisions for kids and adults, grouped by age, weight, and experience level. It's a high-volume regional circuit that many competitors use for regular local competition.

NEWBREED publishes its own rulebook with an explicit emphasis on athlete safety, and technique legality scales with age and division level. Read the current NJJF rules before competing — division structures and legal techniques are spelled out there.
