Frankenmuth hosts the Chewjitsu Open on November 7, 2026. The tournament runs BJJ divisions for all belts, bringing the well-known Chewjitsu name to Michigan's grappling scene.
The Chewjitsu Open is a sub-only, Madison-style round-robin tournament hosted by the Chewjitsu team -- no weight-cutting stress, since competitors are grouped with their nearest weight and experience level and guaranteed up to four matches per division. Youth 8-and-under white belts compete points-only without submissions for safety, while everyone else competes sub-only, with an optional Absolute division offering a $250 cash prize for the no-gi champion. This year's edition takes place November 7, 2026, in Frankenmuth, MI, with gi and no-gi divisions for all ages. Nick "Chewy" Albin -- an IBJJF Worlds and three-time Pan Am champion -- also runs a three-hour no-gi seminar at the event, open to spectators and non-competitors at a discounted rate if you also compete. Registration is through Smoothcomp, linked on Let's Roll.
Registration deadline: November 8, 2026
