Vianna Brothers Brazilian BJJ Academy was founded in 2004 by Daniel Vianna, who leads the school as head instructor. Daniel and his late brother Pedro Vianna both grew up in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and earned their black belts under Carlson Gracie Jr. and Marcelo Alonso, connecting the academy directly to the roots of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. With more than 30 years of experience in the art, Daniel brings a technical, detail-oriented approach to every class, emphasizing efficiency and the traditions of their lineage. Day to day, students at Vianna Brothers train in both gi and no-gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, with separate classes for adults and a structured kids program that advances through levels as young students progress. The academy’s teaching style is hands-on and partner-focused, blending physical challenge with mental engagement. In addition to BJJ, the schedule includes open mat sessions, wrestling, Muay Thai, boxing, and cross-training, as well as guest instruction from black belts in the Carlson Gracie Team. The kids’ program at Vianna Brothers is divided into gi and no-gi classes, each with multiple levels, giving young practitioners a clear path for development. Adult classes run throughout the week, with options for early morning and evening training to accommodate different schedules. Drop-ins are welcome, and the gym regularly hosts open mats on weekends, making it easy for visitors and regulars alike to find time on the mats.
