Refuge BJJ

Refuge BJJ is a Phoenix academy focused on practical Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for students of all backgrounds, with a strong emphasis on safe, structured training for both kids and adults. The school operates out of a modern 6,000-square-foot facility at 711 E Carefree Hwy, offering 2,700 square feet of premium mat space, a sauna, cold plunge, red light therapy, and a massage chair to help athletes recover. The academy welcomes walk-ins and visitors, and families will find a comfortable viewing area with Wi-Fi and charging ports. The class schedule at Refuge covers the full range of BJJ training, starting with the Mighty Mites program for kids ages 4–6, youth classes for ages 7–12, and teen classes, all with age-appropriate instruction. Adults can join fundamentals, gi, and no-gi classes, as well as dedicated competition training for those looking to prepare for tournaments. There are also MMA and self-defense classes, plus open mats for extra practice. The school runs early morning, daytime, and evening sessions to accommodate busy schedules. Refuge BJJ is built on the belief that Jiu-Jitsu should be accessible and valuable to everyone, whether a student is interested in fitness, self-defense, or competition. The coaching team is led by experienced black belts focused on fundamentals, technical precision, and building confidence on the mats.
