12th Street BJJ in Phoenix is led by Professor Jose Munoz, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt with over a decade of coaching, training, and high-level competition experience. Professor Jose has worked with athletes, professionals, and youth across all backgrounds, and is known for his involvement in the local MMA scene, often lending his expertise as a ringside analyst. His approach reflects years spent training alongside accomplished black belt competitors and a genuine investment in helping students develop on and off the mats. The academy offers a range of programs built around Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, but also brings in expertise from other disciplines. Coach Gary heads up Muay Thai instruction, drawing on a lifetime of training and competition in the striking arts. Wrestling is taught by Vince Arollo Sr., whose credentials include freestyle state champion, cadet national team member, and experience coaching at the high school and college levels.
