Lōgōs Jiu Jitsu was founded in January 2020 by Michael Liera Jr, a 3rd degree black belt under Andre Galvao and a well-known competitor from the Atos Jiu Jitsu lineage. Liera Jr brings a modern approach to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu while honoring the strong traditions instilled by his teachers. The academy was established to spread high-quality Jiu-Jitsu in Denver, focusing on strong practice and continuous improvement for adults of all experience levels. The 7,000 square foot facility is designed with a “Floating Floor” mat system, offering enhanced comfort and safety by absorbing impact and reducing joint stress—an important detail for those training hard and often. Lōgōs offers a full schedule seven days a week, including gi and no-gi classes, open mats, and specialized sessions like the White Belt Accelerator and women’s gi class. Programs emphasize both fundamentals and advanced technique, with dedicated intro and fundamentals classes in both gi and no-gi formats. Students aged 16 and up are welcome, and the academy openly welcomes visitors and drop-ins. Instruction at Lōgōs is shaped by Liera Jr’s competition experience and his commitment to practical skill development, whether for self-defense, fitness, or sport. Members train alongside partners ranging from white to black belt, and private lessons are available upon request. The gym’s location in Denver’s RiNo district reflects its modern, accessible ethos, and the academy’s recent team titles at the IBJJF Denver Open show the effectiveness of its approach on the competition stage.
