The NEWBREED Global Grappling Championship will take place on September 12, 2026, at the Edgar H Wilson Convention Center in Macon, GA. This event will feature both gi and no-gi competitions.
The NEWBREED Global Grappling Championship in Macon follows the organization's athlete-safety-first rule set, which removes submissions entirely from the youngest divisions (Youth Group 1, ages 4-11) while still offering full competitive brackets for older youth, teens, and adults in both gi and no-gi. No-gi competitors are grouped by experience level — Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced — while gi competitors compete according to their current belt rank, and any gi color is allowed on the mat. The event runs September 12, 2026 at the Edgar H. Wilson Convention Center, 220 Coliseum Dr, Macon, Georgia. Registration closes the Tuesday before the event, with a final hard deadline the day before at 5pm — NEWBREED does not require membership in an outside federation to compete. NEWBREED (the NEWBREED Jiu-Jitsu Federation) is a US tournament circuit whose federation was established in 2012. It runs 100+ tournaments a year nationwide with kids-through-adult gi and no-gi divisions and digital bracket management, culminating in The Ultimate Grappler (TUG), its elite no-gi absolute finale.
NEWBREED runs a long-established tournament circuit (including its Ultimate Challenge events) with gi and no-gi divisions for kids and adults, grouped by age, weight, and experience level. It's a high-volume regional circuit that many competitors use for regular local competition.
NEWBREED publishes its own rulebook with an explicit emphasis on athlete safety, and technique legality scales with age and division level. Read the current NJJF rules before competing — division structures and legal techniques are spelled out there.
