Organized by AVA Grappling
Ridgefield, WA, just across the river from Portland, hosts AVA Grappling's Portland-area tournament on October 31, 2026. The event runs submission grappling divisions for all belts, drawing competitors from both Washington and Oregon.
AVA Grappling runs a round-robin submission format where every competitor in a division faces every other competitor, with submissions worth the most points and ties broken by overtime rules (fastest escape, referee decision, walkover, or disqualification if no finish). The ruleset itself shifts by age group -- separate rules apply for ages 4-12, 13-15, and 16+/adult white belt -- and there's a dedicated division for competitors in their first six months of training. AVA Portland actually runs in Ridgefield, WA, serving the greater Portland metro area, on October 31, 2026. It's open to gi and no-gi competitors across all these age and experience brackets. Registration is handled through Smoothcomp, linked on Let's Roll.
Registration deadline: October 25, 2026
