Claim this gymWCJJ - West Coast Jiu Jitsu was founded in 2023 by Renan Dantas with the goal of teaching authentic Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Osborne Park, Perth. Renan’s background includes leading BJJ classes for soldiers during a military mission in Haiti, and he’s gone on to win titles at state, national, and international level, including ADCC Perth and CBJJE Brazilian Nationals. His approach puts technical skill and personal development at the centre of training, and he remains active as both a competitor and an IBJJF-certified referee. Classes at WCJJ are structured for steady progress, starting with the Little Champions program for ages 4–6, Juniors for 7–9, and a dedicated Teens class for 10–14. Adult training covers both gi and no-gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, with a curriculum that balances technique, self-defence, and competition skills. There’s also a kickboxing program for adults, giving members a way to build striking ability alongside their grappling. The Osborne Park facility is set up with a large mat area, a private coaching room for one-on-one sessions, and a strength gym for conditioning. There’s a sauna and ice bath for recovery, plus a kids’ play area so parents can train without worry. The club aims to make BJJ accessible to all backgrounds and fitness levels, with a focus on technical improvement and a respectful, ego-free atmosphere.
