Organized by FUJI BJJ
January 16, 2027 in Kansas City brings FUJI BJJ's Jiu-Jitsu Expo, with gi and no-gi divisions spanning all belts and ages. The expo format pairs tournament competition with the vendor and community elements FUJI BJJ events are known for.
The 2027 FUJI BJJ Kansas City Jiu-Jitsu Expo combines FUJI's usual competitive gi and no-gi divisions — split by age, belt, and weight — with the expo format the promotion runs at select stops. A 2-pound weigh-in allowance is standard, and competitors entering both gi and no-gi qualify for FUJI's combo registration discount. This event is scheduled for January 16, 2027 in Kansas City, MO. Spectators over 12 pay a $20 gate fee, and each competitor gets one coach pass for their corner. As always, FUJI adjusts bracket formats by division size to guarantee competitors more than one match where possible. Register through the Smoothcomp link on Let's Roll.
Registration deadline: January 12, 2027
FUJI BJJ is the tournament series run by Fuji Sports, the martial-arts gi and apparel brand, launched in 2007. It runs gi and no-gi events for kids through adults across roughly ten US regions, using IBJJF-style point scoring.
FUJI BJJ runs one of the larger tournament circuits in the United States, with gi and no-gi divisions for kids and adults and a reputation for beginner-friendly, well-organized events.
FUJI's scoring is closely based on IBJJF rules: the same positional point values, advantages for near-scores and submission attempts, and a similar penalty structure. Match times scale with belt — roughly 5 minutes at white belt up to 8 minutes for brown and black belts — so IBJJF competitors will find the format immediately familiar.
Always confirm the official rulebook before you compete — organizations update rules between seasons. See the official event page for current rules.
