VB Fighthouse in Virginia Beach is owned and led by Mikey, a coach whose approach is shaped by a lifetime of training and competing across multiple disciplines. Mikey emphasizes elite technique for both beginners and advanced students, drawing from a background that includes championship titles in kickboxing, boxing, and wrestling. He became the first black belt under 18 under legendary kickboxer Joe Lewis, and his competitive history includes national and regional championships, as well as a place in the Kellam High School Hall of Fame. At VB Fighthouse, training is designed to be accessible and practical, with a focus on skill development at every stage. The academy provides open mat sessions for adults, welcoming both gi and no-gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioners.
