Coastal Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

Coastal Brazilian Jiu Jitsu was founded in 2014 by Nestor Bayot, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt with a background in several martial arts. Located on General Booth Boulevard in Virginia Beach, the academy reflects Bayot’s dedication to teaching BJJ alongside other disciplines like Muay Thai. His approach emphasizes technical skill, discipline, and personal growth, drawing from years of experience both training and coaching. Classes at Coastal BJJ cover a range of ages and skill levels, from kids as young as five to adults. The academy offers gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes for youth, teens, and adults, as well as no-gi sessions. Muay Thai is also part of the curriculum, with separate programs for youth and adults led by experienced instructors. Those interested in competing can access specialized training to prepare for tournaments. Open mat sessions provide additional time for practice and sparring. The facility is wheelchair accessible and maintains a schedule of day and evening classes to accommodate different lifestyles. Coastal Brazilian Jiu Jitsu also supports local youth through its connection with Strong Roots BJJ Foundation, which helps children train through scholarships.
