Senzo BJJ Academy

Senzo BJJ Academy was founded by Professor Nate Burnette after more than two decades of service in law enforcement and a lifetime on the mats. Professor Burnette, a 4th-degree black belt under World Champion Cassio Werneck, spent over ten years as head instructor at Synergy Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Northern California before relocating with his family to Greenville. His vision for Senzo is rooted in sharing the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu while drawing on his experience in defensive tactics and team-based training, creating a space where both tradition and practical self-defense are emphasized. The academy’s structured curriculum covers Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for adults and children, with classes running Monday through Saturday. Adult programs include both gi and no-gi sessions, as well as a beginner-friendly Foundations Course to help new students build confidence from the start. Kids’ classes are divided by age group, with separate sessions for ages 7–10 and 10–15, plus a no-gi class for advanced youth. Senzo also offers a competition class by invitation and regular open mat opportunities for adult members. The schedule is designed to accommodate busy family routines, with late afternoon and evening classes making training accessible for students from Greenville and surrounding areas. Instruction is led by Professor Burnette, whose career includes extensive competition at the black belt masters level and more than 15 years of teaching experience. The staff also includes Amanda Burnette, who manages operations and coaches kids, and Fatima Corpion, an experienced children’s instructor and active purple belt competitor. The academy’s approach emphasizes personal growth, discipline, and confidence, with a strong focus on serving families and fostering long-term development both on and off the mats.
