Roll Model Grappling Academy

Roll Model Grappling Academy is led by AJ Clingerman, a black belt and the gym’s owner who has cultivated a training environment inspired by the Roll Model Women’s Only Grappling Camp, the largest gathering of female grapplers worldwide. This connection shapes the academy’s approach, blending technical Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instruction with a mindset that values empowerment and personal growth. AJ’s team includes several skilled instructors across belt ranks who teach both adults and children, emphasizing steady development on and off the mats. Classes at Roll Model cover a range of disciplines, including traditional gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for adults and kids, judo for all ages, and kickboxing. Their kids’ programs start as young as four years old, progressing to more advanced classes for ages six to fourteen. The academy offers open mat sessions that welcome drop-ins, providing students the opportunity to drill and spar outside of formal classes. Private lessons are also available, allowing for personalized instruction tailored to individual goals.
