13830 Gran Bay Pkwy #502, Jacksonville, FL
Renaissance of Jiu Jitsu in Jacksonville, FL, was established in December 2018 by Clinton Dosio in collaboration with Robson Moura, a 5th degree black belt and eight-time world champion. Dosio, a North East Florida native and black belt under Moura, continues to train with him while leading the academy locally. The school’s philosophy centers on practical self-defense as the foundation of its belt system, building toward competition readiness. This approach reflects the vision to not only teach Jiu Jitsu techniques but also apply its principles to everyday life challenges. Training at Renaissance blends Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with complementary arts like judo and wrestling, emphasizing takedowns and control to prepare students for both self-defense scenarios and competitive matches. Classes are offered for adults and kids, starting as young as age three for judo and seven for Jiu Jitsu. Both gi and no-gi formats are available, including morning gi classes and no-gi sessions for adults. The academy also holds workshop classes to deepen technical understanding and provides a consistent schedule that supports steady progression. The academy’s location near the St. Johns, Nocatee, and Ponte Vedra border serves families and individuals throughout the area. It is wheelchair accessible and maintains a family-friendly environment where parents and children often train together. The focus on character development for youth and a practical, disciplined approach to martial arts training reflects the founders’ intent to foster resilience and confidence beyond the mats.
