MARIO SPERRY JIU JITSU

Mario Sperry Jiu Jitsu in Miami gives students direct access to one of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu’s most historically important competitors. Mario Sperry is a sixth-degree black belt who trained under Carlson Gracie, won double gold at the 1995 IBJJF World Championship and became the first ADCC absolute champion in 1998. He later captained Brazil at ADCC and built a résumé spanning elite grappling and MMA. The Miami academy includes gi and no-gi jiu jitsu, fundamentals, kids training, judo, MMA, boxing and open mat. Sperry teaches directly at the school, while advanced no-gi and MMA instruction also includes Javier Oyarzabal, a professional MMA fighter and BJJ black belt under Sperry who works with amateur and professional athletes. For grapplers in downtown Miami and Miami Beach, the strongest reason to choose this academy is access to Sperry himself. Students are training with a figure who helped define both early ADCC and the Carlson Gracie competition era, giving the school historical depth that few modern academies can reproduce.
