Professor Garcia began training at age nine and earned his rank under Professor Marcão, a direct student of Royler Gracie, preserving the Helio Gracie and Humaita tradition. After moving to the U.S. in 2002, Garcia became the head jiu-jitsu instructor at UFC champion Ken Shamrock’s Lion’s Den before establishing his own academy in Reno, bringing together classic Gracie lineage with firsthand MMA coaching experience. The academy’s programs reflect this blend of tradition and evolution. Adults can train in both gi and no-gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, with classes structured for a range of skill levels. Garcia offers private lessons for students seeking more personalized attention, whether for self-defense, technical refinement, or competition preparation.
