Gracie Barra Bellevue TN Brazilian Jiu Jitsu & Self Defense serves the Nashville area as part of the worldwide Gracie Barra network, following the system developed by Master Carlos Gracie Jr. The academy is led by Professors Chris and Justin, twin brothers who began their journey together at GB Franklin in 2012. After years of dedication as students, competitors, and coaches, they stepped into lead instructor roles in 2021 and became owners in March 2024. Their approach emphasizes growth, discipline, and the structured teaching that is a hallmark of Gracie Barra. Classes at this location follow the traditional Gracie Barra curriculum, progressing students from fundamentals to advanced techniques. The GB1 Fundamentals program introduces new students to core self-defense and technical skills in the gi, while the GB2 Advanced program builds on this base with more complex drills, no-gi training, and live rolling for those with at least three stripes on their white belt. The GB3 Expert program challenges higher belts with increased technical and physical demands. For children, the GBK program is designed to develop confidence and discipline through age-appropriate instruction in self-defense, takedowns, and ground work. The academy welcomes students of all ages, with a schedule that runs throughout the week and includes afternoon, evening, and weekend sessions. While there is no women’s-only class, women are present in the regular adult classes. The facility is wheelchair accessible and maintains the structured, safe training environment that Gracie Barra schools are known for.
