Claim this gymFinney's St. Louis MMA, Kickboxing, Boxing and BJJ is run by owner Jesse Finney, a Strikeforce MMA veteran and head coach for Chuck Norris’ World Combat League. With a background in professional fighting, Finney has built the academy around the idea that students should train the way real fighters do—on quality mats, in a cage, and under the guidance of instructors who have been there themselves. The Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program is led by Lucas Lopes, a world-class competitor and fellow Strikeforce fighter, who brings years of experience in both coaching and competition. The academy’s Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes cover a full range of training, from fundamentals to advanced techniques. Adult students can attend gi and no-gi sessions throughout the week, as well as focused fundamentals classes. Kids as young as four can join age-specific BJJ and MMA classes, and there’s a dedicated youth judo program to round out the grappling options for younger athletes. The schedule also includes open mat sessions, giving students extra time to drill or roll at their own pace. Training at Finney’s goes beyond BJJ. The facility offers boxing, kickboxing, wrestling, MMA, and strength and conditioning classes, all taught by instructors with real fight experience. With over 20,000 square feet of space—including a full cage, boxing ring, and a large mat area—students have access to the same environment used by the academy’s competitive fighters. Amenities like sports rehab, a cardio center, and locker rooms with saunas support athletes at every level, from hobbyists to those preparing for their next bout.
