Evolve Checkmat Jiu Jitsu / Muay Thai Academy in Mission Viejo is led by owner and head instructor Todd Aimer, who brings years of hands-on experience to the mats. As part of the Checkmat affiliation, the academy upholds a technical, team-driven approach to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, emphasizing both individual growth and the strength of a unified team. Todd and the coaching staff have dedicated their lives to sharing the benefits of BJJ and Muay Thai, striving to create a clean, safe environment where students of all backgrounds can develop their skills. Training at Evolve covers a wide range of programs for both kids and adults. The academy runs gi and no-gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes, including dedicated sessions for adults, teens, and children. Young students start with the Mini and Micro Rollers and progress through youth and teen programs, learning fundamentals and building confidence. Adults can choose from all-levels gi classes, no-gi sessions, and specialty offerings such as Ladies Only Jiu Jitsu. Muay Thai is also a core part of the curriculum, with both youth and adult classes available, reflecting the academy’s commitment to striking arts alongside grappling. Evolve Checkmat also offers open mat times, personal training, and welcomes drop-ins. The wheelchair-accessible facility serves not only Mission Viejo but also Rancho Mission Viejo, Ladera Ranch, and surrounding areas.
