10th Planet Jiu Jitsu Mission Viejo was established to bring Eddie Bravo’s no-gi system and modern grappling to the heart of Orange County. Head coach Matt Salinas, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt with over two decades of martial arts experience, leads the academy with a focus on practical no-gi techniques and real-world application. The coaching staff also includes Cashé Quiroga, a former NCAA collegiate wrestler and Olympic Training Center athlete, whose deep competitive and coaching background shapes the wrestling program. Muay Thai is taught by Diego Paez, a multi-organization champion and ONE Championship fighter, while longtime UFC veteran Louis Smolka heads up MMA instruction. The academy’s schedule is built around the 10th Planet system, offering a range of no-gi Jiu-Jitsu classes for adults and youth, from fundamentals and all levels to advanced training. Beginners are guided through a structured 6-week introductory course that emphasizes foundational skills and smooth progression. Youth programs include both no-gi and gi Jiu-Jitsu, as well as advanced wrestling instruction for kids and teens, providing a strong base in grappling from an early age. For striking and MMA, students can train in Muay Thai and mixed martial arts under experienced competitors. Training takes place in a 2,000 square foot facility with flexible class times, including morning, afternoon, and evening sessions. The academy welcomes visitors and drop-ins, and also hosts open mats—including a free community session every Sunday. With a curriculum shaped by accomplished athletes and a clear focus on technical growth, 10th Planet Mission Viejo offers a full slate of grappling and striking instruction under one roof.
