3365 Mission Ave C/D, Oceanside, CA
CSG 360 Jiu Jitsu in Oceanside, California, is owned and led by Professor Charlie Grant, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt with two decades of training experience. Since opening the academy in March 2017, Professor Charlie has built a dedicated coaching team that includes black belt Pouria Amini, brown belt Jason Schwartze, and several experienced purple belt coaches such as Glenny Grits, Doug Tran, Jay, and Justin Petitte. The team’s collective years on the mats are reflected in their approach to instruction and mentorship, with a special focus on supporting military veterans and their families through a partnership with the We Defy Foundation. The academy offers a structured class schedule for all ages and experience levels. Adult students can progress through fundamentals, advanced, and “Smash Class” sessions, with both gi and no-gi formats available. Early morning “Early Rollers” classes cater to those looking to train before the workday, and open mats are available on weekends for extra rounds and skill development. The kids’ program is robust, beginning with classes for ages 3–6 and extending up through youth fundamentals and no-gi instruction, taught by coaches with years of both training and teaching experience. Women’s self-defense is also part of the regular programming. CSG 360 is recognized as a We Defy Foundation facility, welcoming active duty, retired, and disabled veterans. The academy is wheelchair accessible and encourages drop-ins across most classes. With a strong emphasis on family, discipline, and personal development, the school has become a home base for many in the local community, including a significant number of veterans and their families.
