Alliance Jiu Jitsu Boise is guided by Master Alexandre “Gigi” Paiva, a 7th-degree coral belt and co-founder of the global Alliance team. Paiva began training under Mestre Jacaré Cavalcanti in 1983 and earned his black belt in 1991. His approach to teaching emphasizes technical precision, discipline, and building resilience both on and off the mats. Over three decades, he has shaped multiple world champions and maintains a family-oriented leadership style that influences the academy’s culture. At Alliance Boise, instruction follows a clear progression from fundamentals to advanced techniques, with a focus on leveraging technique over strength. Classes accommodate a range of practitioners, including youth programs tailored to motor skill development and cognitive growth. While gi training remains central, the academy also supports no-gi practice and competition preparation. Women’s classes and open mat sessions provide additional training opportunities, ensuring students can refine skills in varied settings. The academy operates out of a wheelchair-accessible facility and welcomes drop-in students to open mat sessions, reflecting its accessible and inclusive environment. Instructors such as Victor Genovesi and Daniela Genovesi, both IBJJF world champions promoted by Paiva, support the head coach in delivering consistent, high-level instruction.
