The NEWBREED Destin Fall Championship will take place on October 24, 2026, at the Destin Ft. Walton Beach Convention Center. This tournament will feature both gi and no-gi divisions.
Event Description
NEWBREED's Destin-area stop runs the federation's athlete-safety-first rules with gi and no-gi divisions on the same day. Youth split into Group 1 (ages 4-11, no submissions) and Group 2 (ages 12-17), no-gi adults compete by skill level rather than belt, and gi competitors go by current rank with any gi color allowed. The championship takes place Saturday, October 24, 2026, at the Destin Ft. Walton Beach Convention Center, 1250 Miracle Strip Pkwy SE, in Fort Walton Beach, FL. Registration closes the Tuesday before the event with a final cutoff the day before at 5pm, and no outside federation membership is required. Register through NEWBREED's Smoothcomp listing.
About NEWBREED
NEWBREED (the NEWBREED Jiu-Jitsu Federation) is a US tournament circuit whose federation was established in 2012. It runs 100+ tournaments a year nationwide with kids-through-adult gi and no-gi divisions and digital bracket management, culminating in The Ultimate Grappler (TUG), its elite no-gi absolute finale.
Rules
NEWBREED runs a long-established tournament circuit (including its Ultimate Challenge events) with gi and no-gi divisions for kids and adults, grouped by age, weight, and experience level. It's a high-volume regional circuit that many competitors use for regular local competition.
NEWBREED publishes its own rulebook with an explicit emphasis on athlete safety, and technique legality scales with age and division level. Read the current NJJF rules before competing — division structures and legal techniques are spelled out there.
