Event Description
NEWBREED's Connecticut Fall Championship follows the promotion's athlete-safety-first rulebook, keeping submissions out of the 11-and-under youth bracket while running standard gi and no-gi divisions for older youth and adults. Divisions split into Youth Group 1 (4-11) and Youth Group 2 (12-17), skill-level brackets -- Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced -- for no-gi adults, and current-belt divisions for gi, with any gi color accepted. The championship takes place Saturday, October 10, 2026, in Newtown, Connecticut, open to all ages and levels. Registration closes the Tuesday before the event, with a final hard cutoff the day before at 5pm -- register through newbreedbjj.smoothcomp.com.

About Newbreed
NEWBREED (the NEWBREED Jiu-Jitsu Federation) is a US tournament circuit whose federation was established in 2012. It runs 100+ tournaments a year nationwide with kids-through-adult gi and no-gi divisions and digital bracket management, culminating in The Ultimate Grappler (TUG), its elite no-gi absolute finale.
Rules
NEWBREED runs a long-established tournament circuit (including its Ultimate Challenge events) with gi and no-gi divisions for kids and adults, grouped by age, weight, and experience level. It's a high-volume regional circuit that many competitors use for regular local competition.
