Organized by Jiu-Jitsu World League
The Jiu-Jitsu World League stages its 15th Dallas event on August 29, 2026. No-gi divisions run across all skill levels for North Texas grapplers.
JJWL Dallas XV marks the 15th running of the Jiu-Jitsu World League's Dallas stop, part of a national no-gi series that ranks competitors across events rather than treating each tournament as a one-off. True to the JJWL format, newer competitors get a fair shake through the Level 1 division, reserved for athletes with three or fewer career wins in JJWL competition, keeping first-timers out of brackets stacked with tour veterans. Brackets of four or more run double elimination, and weigh-ins happen in the actual uniform competitors will wear on the mat. The event takes place August 29, 2026 in Dallas, TX, focused on no-gi adult divisions. It's well suited both to competitors chasing points across the JJWL series and to locals looking for a single well-run tournament. Registration closes the Saturday one week before the event through jjworldleague.com.
Registration deadline: August 26, 2026
Jiu Jitsu World League (JJWL) was founded in 2014 by BJJ black belt Rigan Machado and Mathew Tinley, debuting its first event in January 2015. Rather than single-elimination brackets, it runs a season-long points-league model — individual, team, and academy standings accumulate across a series of gi and no-gi events for youth and adult competitors, run mainly in California, Texas, Florida, and the Northeast US.
Jiu Jitsu World League (JJWL) runs gi and no-gi tournaments for kids and adults using IBJJF-style positional points — but with no advantages. Removing advantages is the ruleset's defining feature: tied matches can't be won on near-misses, which pushes competitors to actually score or finish.
JJWL also operates a season-long league ranking across its events, where wins, submissions, and podium finishes earn ranking points — submission wins are weighted extra. Check the JJWL rulebook for current match rules and division details.
Always confirm the official rulebook before you compete — organizations update rules between seasons. See the official event page for current rules.
