South Aiken BJJ

South Aiken BJJ is led by co-owners and black belts Ashley Alex New and Brannon New, both students of Joshua Miller. Brannon New, a second-degree black belt, began teaching in Aiken while still a purple belt and opened the original Aiken Jiu-Jitsu in 2015. The academy moved into its current facility in 2021, continuing its focus on delivering solid instruction rooted in the Terra Guerra lineage. Classes at South Aiken BJJ cover fundamentals through advanced techniques, with gi-focused fundamentals classes and separate no-gi sessions for adults. The schedule includes women’s only gi classes and multiple open mat times for all students to drill and spar freely. Kids programs offer age-appropriate training, including classes for children as young as three years old, with membership options tailored to families. Instruction emphasizes practical application and steady progression, supporting students who want to develop self-defense skills, fitness, or competition readiness. Membership pricing reflects a range of options from month-to-month to long-term commitments, with discounts for military and law enforcement.
