Sacramento Jiu Jitsu Team Maxwell is led by Professors Terry and Davin Maxwell, a father and son duo who have dedicated decades to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Terry Maxwell brings over 25 years of experience to the academy, while Davin has practiced BJJ his entire life, known locally for his technical style. Their approach reflects a family-oriented philosophy, emphasizing not only skill development but also character, discipline, and commitment—values especially central to their youth program. The academy’s classes cover all ages, from kids to adults, with a strong emphasis on gi training. The kids’ program forms the foundation of the school’s curriculum, aiming to cultivate responsible and compassionate young practitioners alongside their technical growth. Adults train in gi classes that accommodate all levels, welcoming drop-in students and providing a structured environment for steady progression. Located on Sutterville Road in Sacramento, the facility is wheelchair accessible and supports families training together, many of whom travel statewide to compete.
