Rudo BJJ

Rudo BJJ was founded in Toledo as a Tom DeBlass affiliate, bringing a respected East Coast lineage to northwest Ohio. The academy is led by head instructor Jason Willman, supported by a coaching team that includes Zain Hussein, Matt G., Aaron Metz, and Paul Fretti. Built on the principle of sharing high-level Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with people of all backgrounds, Rudo focuses on practical technique and steady progression for both new and experienced students. Training at Rudo covers the core of gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, with a clear emphasis on building strong fundamentals before moving on to advanced material. Adult students can find classes in both gi and no-gi formats throughout the week, including dedicated fundamentals sessions and additional classes such as Combat Fundamentals. No-gi classes are offered on Friday evenings and Saturday mornings, while open mat rounds out the week on Sundays, giving students time to experiment and refine their skills. Younger grapplers train in the Junior Rudo’s program, which meets several times a week in the gi and provides a structured introduction to the art. With drop-ins welcome and a range of class times from midday to evening, Rudo BJJ maintains a flexible schedule to accommodate busy families and working adults alike. The academy’s approach is rooted in technical development, consistency, and a genuine passion for jiu-jitsu.
