Rivaldo Junior BJJ Academy

Rivaldo Junior BJJ Academy is led by Professor Rivaldo Junior, a 5th degree black belt with more than two decades of experience on the mats. Raised in Manaus, Brazil, Rivaldo trained under prominent instructors such as Orley Lobato and Osvaldo Alves within the Gracie Humaitá lineage. He earned his black belt at 21 and holds medals from Brazilian Nationals, along with IBJJF titles in both gi and no-gi competition. After a professional MMA career with 26 fights, he opened the academy in San Antonio in 2023 to pass on a style of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu grounded in tradition, discipline, and technical precision. Classes at the academy follow a clear progression system, starting with fundamentals that emphasize core techniques and principles. More advanced students focus on refining strategy and detail, with instruction covering both gi and no-gi formats. Children’s classes aim to build confidence and discipline through age-appropriate training. The academy also maintains a clean, climate-controlled facility with mats that are cleaned multiple times daily, ensuring a professional environment conducive to learning and growth. Rivaldo Junior BJJ Academy welcomes practitioners of all ages and skill levels, offering a training space where respect and humility are central values.
