Rilion Gracie Jiu Jitsu Energy Corridor is led by owner and head instructor Drew Lockwood, a black belt under Master Rilion Gracie. Drew began his training at age 14 and brings decades of experience to the mats, carrying forward the technical lineage and teaching philosophy of the Gracie family. The academy was founded to offer Houston’s Energy Corridor a place where people of all backgrounds can experience the physical and mental benefits of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in an environment shaped by tradition and careful instruction. At this academy, the core of training is rooted in the traditional gi-based system, with programs for adults, teens, and children. Fundamental, all-levels, and advanced classes guide students from their first steps through to technical black belt proficiency. Kids as young as four have their own age-specific classes, while teens and adults can progress through a structured curriculum that emphasizes fundamentals, advanced technique, and competition readiness. A dedicated women’s class provides a focused setting for female practitioners, and open mat sessions allow for additional practice and sparring. Alongside the main BJJ curriculum, the schedule also includes no-gi classes for both all levels and advanced students, as well as Muay Thai and MMA grappling. Kids’ Muay Thai is available for younger students looking to expand their skills beyond grappling. The facility is wheelchair accessible, and drop-ins are welcome for most classes, making it easy for visitors and newcomers to join. The academy’s approach is built on thoughtful progression, technical detail, and a clear connection to the Rilion Gracie legacy.
