Professor Santos has competed at the highest levels, earning recognition as a Division 1 Wrestling All American and medaling at IBJJF Gi Worlds Masters, NAGA, and Newbreed events. His approach to teaching is shaped by decades of coaching and competition, with a focus on helping students develop both technical skill and confidence. The academy traces its roots to the first Renzo Gracie Academy in Florida, established by Stan Beck, and maintains close ties to the broader Renzo Gracie Association—welcoming guest instructors such as Matt Serra, Ricardo Almeida, and even Renzo Gracie himself.
