RCAJJ/Combat Base

RCAJJ/Combat Base in Hemet is led by Professor Roger Carpenter, a black belt whose journey began at Gracie Barra in 2010 and continued through Gracie Humaita under Omar Salum. Roger’s path included time training with Roberto “Cyborg” Abreu in Miami, followed by competitive and coaching experience with Fight Sports So Cal. In 2024, he joined Combat Base under the mentorship of Chris Haueter, one of the first American black belts in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Roger’s goal has always been to create a school that blends technical growth, competition, and a supportive environment for all ages. The academy offers a full weekly schedule with both gi and no-gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes for adults and kids. Adult classes run mornings and evenings, with a balanced emphasis on both traditional gi and modern no-gi formats. Kids programs are available for both gi and no-gi as well, focusing on fundamentals, movement, and confidence. Open mat sessions are held multiple times per week for students to drill, roll, and test their skills in a less structured setting. RCAJJ/Combat Base also extends its reach into the local community, partnering with Mission Vista Charter School to provide Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instruction to students. The academy maintains close ties with Combat Base, welcoming seminars from Chris Haueter and benefiting from a broader network of experienced black belts. Private lessons, competition coaching, and a family-focused approach round out the offerings, ensuring that students at every stage have opportunities to learn and grow.
