Gracie Hemet Jiu Jitsu Academy is led by Professor Omar Salum, a world champion with deep roots in the Gracie Humaita tradition. Professor Omar has dedicated his life to teaching authentic Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as it was passed down through the legendary Gracie family, bringing a detail-oriented, patient approach to every class. The academy was built on the belief that real self-defense and confidence are accessible to everyone, regardless of background or experience. The academy offers a structured progression for both kids and adults, with classes divided by age and skill level. Young students can start as early as age four in the Little Champs program, continuing through Juniors and Teens classes that focus on discipline, focus, and anti-bullying skills. Adults train in both gi and no-gi formats, moving from beginner fundamentals to advanced sessions, with morning, midday, and evening classes to fit different schedules. Women’s Jiu-Jitsu is offered in both gi and no-gi, led by dedicated instructors, creating space for women to train together and build technical confidence. For those interested in broadening their skillset, the academy also runs Judo classes for kids and adults, as well as Muay Thai for striking fundamentals. Classes are run on two mats to accommodate parallel sessions, allowing families to train together or students to find the right group for their goals. Drop-ins and visitors are welcome, and private lessons are available for all levels. The team at Gracie Hemet Jiu Jitsu Academy takes pride in teaching practical, tested techniques in a room where families, competitors, and first-timers can all find their place on the mat.
