Premier Jiu Jitsu

Premier Jiu Jitsu in Madison is led by a team of experienced coaches with deep roots in both Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and grappling competition. Head instructor Bill Dresser is a BJJ black belt, retired MMA fighter, and brings over 15 years of mat experience and 8 years as a teacher. Coleman Meyer, also a black belt, is an active and accomplished competitor with five years of coaching to his name. Together, they have shaped the academy’s curriculum, drawing from more than 25 years of combined expertise. The academy offers a broad schedule that includes both gi and no-gi classes for adults and kids. Fundamentals and all-levels sessions are available in both formats, reflecting a teaching approach that values technical progression and practical application. Kids’ classes start at age six and focus on confidence, discipline, and self-defense, while the adult program supports a range of interests—from getting in shape to preparing for tournaments or building MMA skills. Open mat sessions, offered in both gi and no-gi, give students space to experiment and develop their game outside of formal instruction. Premier Jiu Jitsu is wheelchair accessible and welcomes drop-ins to most classes. The school is known for a relaxed, supportive training environment where beginners and seasoned practitioners train side by side. With a focus on accessible, high-quality coaching and a curriculum that evolves with the sport, the academy aims to help every student find their place on the mats and in the broader BJJ community.
