Head instructor Luiz Panza, an IBJJF World No-Gi Champion and two-time Pan Champion, leads every session with a direct, hands-on approach. He and his wife Camila opened the academy in Torrance after the birth of their first child, building a space where beginners, families, and serious competitors all find their place on the mat. Panza’s teaching reflects a deep technical lineage that traces through Rickson Gracie and the Checkmat team under Leo Vieira. Adult classes in the gi emphasize solid fundamentals and advanced techniques, with a strong influence from Panza’s own competition career and signature foot lock game. No-Gi classes for adults and teens are also part of the weekly schedule, bringing the same level of detail and intensity to a faster-paced format. Luiz and Camila run these classes together, offering instruction for ages 4–12 that builds coordination, discipline, and confidence.
