Oceanic Jiujitsu

Oceanic Jiujitsu in Cork is led by Sean Livingston, a black belt under Checkmat International with over ten years of training and more than five years of coaching experience. Sean has competed successfully at the national level, securing multiple titles, which informs his practical and disciplined approach to teaching. The academy operates from the Donnybrook Commercial Centre, providing a central location for practitioners in County Cork. The curriculum balances traditional gi classes with no-gi sessions, catering to a broad range of adult students from beginners to advanced levels. Beginners can start with dedicated fundamentals classes, ensuring a solid technical base before progressing. More experienced students have opportunities to deepen their skills in both gi and no-gi formats, reflecting the modern demands of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu while maintaining the core principles of the art. Open mat sessions are regularly scheduled, allowing students to drill techniques and spar freely outside formal classes. The academy welcomes drop-ins, making it accessible for visitors or those trying out the sport. While the focus remains on Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, the training environment supports steady development through consistent practice and competition readiness under Sean’s guidance.
