Nucleus Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

Nucleus Brazilian Jiu Jitsu was founded in 2018 by Chris Jones, whose roots in Gwinnett County run deep. With more than two decades of grappling experience, Chris began as a wrestler, advanced his training in the Marine Corps, and ultimately earned his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu credentials under Paul Creighton, a Renzo Gracie black belt. The academy was built on the idea that Jiu-Jitsu is a practical system for self-defense, personal growth, and competition, welcoming students with a focus on realistic training and steady improvement. Classes at Nucleus are structured to give both adults and kids a complete introduction to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in both gi and no-gi formats. Adult classes balance traditional gi techniques with modern submission grappling, while young students ages 5 to 13 can choose from gi or no-gi programs tailored to their age group. The schedule is designed for busy families and working adults, running weekday evenings, and drop-ins are welcome for those interested in trying a class. The academy operates out of a wheelchair-accessible facility in Norcross, offering a clean and practical space to train. Whether students are looking to compete, learn effective self-defense, or simply build confidence and fitness, Nucleus keeps its focus on solid fundamentals, consistent practice, and respect for the lineage and discipline of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
