Mash Gym Brazilian Jiu Jitsu was founded in 2008 by Todd Allee, a black belt under Master Carlos Henrique “Caique” Elias. Todd began his martial arts journey in 2002 at Warrior Way Martial Arts Alliance before launching his MMA career and ultimately creating Mash Gym as a space where authentic Gracie Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and modern fitness training could thrive together. The lineage at Mash Gym connects directly to Grand Master Helio Gracie through Master Caique, and that heritage is reflected in the curriculum, which emphasizes technical precision, discipline, and the original philosophy of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The academy’s BJJ program is structured for both adults and children, with dedicated classes for each age group. Classes are run by experienced instructors who maintain a strong focus on safety and a clear progression from fundamentals to more advanced techniques. Women’s Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes are also offered, providing a dedicated space for female students to train. The gym is an official ADOPT-A-COP BJJ Affiliate, welcoming active law enforcement officers for specialized training in practical grappling skills. Mash Gym’s 10,000-square-foot facility features over 3,000 square feet of Tatami mats, a mirrored weight room, wrestling mats, heavy bags, and a full range of fitness equipment. The schedule includes Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, wrestling, MMA, Muay Thai, boxing, and kickboxing, making it a practical choice for grapplers interested in cross-training or MMA crossover. With its central location on 8 Mile Road, the academy serves not just Redford Township but also students from Farmington Hills, Southfield, and the broader Metro Detroit area.
