Labyrinth Jiu Jitsu is led by Dana Cash, who began training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in 2010 while serving in the Marine Corps. With a Masters in Sports Medicine focusing on Motor Control and Exercise Science from Iowa State University, Dana brings a deep understanding of physical performance and rehabilitation to his role as head instructor. Alongside co-founder Chelsea Cash, who emphasizes empowerment through self-defense for women, they opened Labyrinth in 2021 to share the benefits of BJJ with the Jacksonville community, including veterans and women seeking practical self-defense skills. The academy offers a structured curriculum divided into age and skill-specific classes. For children, the Tiny Titans (ages 6-8) and Little Warriors (ages 9-12) programs focus on fundamentals, discipline, and confidence-building in both gi and no-gi training. Teens and adults start in Fundamentals classes designed to reinforce core techniques, progressing to Advanced Gi and No Gi sessions that emphasize positional sparring and strategic development. Women’s self-defense classes are held on Saturdays and are offered without charge, reflecting the school’s commitment to accessible empowerment. Training at Labyrinth includes gi and no-gi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, with classes tailored to competition preparation, fitness, and self-defense. Open mat sessions provide additional rolling opportunities for all students. The academy also partners with the We Defy Foundation, supporting disabled combat veterans through BJJ as a tool for physical and mental healing. Located on Richlands Highway, Labyrinth’s facility is wheelchair accessible and welcomes drop-in students, maintaining a focus on safe, precise technique and steady progression rather than competition results alone.
