Infinite Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in Gaithersburg was founded with the belief that martial arts training should be a path to personal growth and lifelong development, not just a collection of techniques. The academy is led by Professor Tony Passos, a 4th degree black belt under Ricardo de la Riva and a respected member of Team Atos Jiu Jitsu. Alongside him, Professor Jeff Gordon, a 3rd degree black belt who earned his rank under Professor Passos, brings nearly three decades of martial arts experience to the mat. Their combined backgrounds in international competition, coaching, and cross-disciplinary teaching set the tone for a school that values both technical skill and character. Classes at Infinite BJJ are carefully structured for every age and stage. The kids’ program starts as early as age 4, with dedicated beginner and intermediate tracks for ages 4-6, 7-10, and 11-15, all taught by coaches with both BJJ expertise and a strong understanding of child development. Adults can choose from mixed-rank gi classes, focused intermediate sessions, and no-gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Coach Mills, who began his own journey here as a teenager, now leads adult classes that emphasize foundational skills and practical application. The schedule runs weekday evenings and Saturday mornings, making training accessible for families and working students alike. The coaching staff includes medal-winning competitors such as Professor Evgeny Mechenov, who brings international experience from both BJJ and combat sports, as well as a team of skilled brown, purple, and blue belt instructors. This diverse group ensures that students receive instruction from people with real competition backgrounds and a passion for teaching.
