Located on Schoolcraft Road in Livonia, Impact Mentoring Martial Arts (IMMA) Jiu Jitsu is shaped by a mission that reaches beyond the mats. The academy’s focus is clear: equip students—kids and adults alike—with the skills and confidence to handle life’s challenges, both physical and personal. IMMA’s teaching philosophy centers on consistent training and real-world application, aiming to make students “bully proof” through a mix of technical drilling and live rolling. IMMA’s Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program covers a full range of classes for all ages. For adults, the schedule includes beginner and advanced gi classes, as well as no-gi fundamentals and open mat sessions. Family participation is encouraged, with a dedicated no-gi family class that welcomes adults to train together. Kids’ classes are split by age and uniform, with gi training for ages 9 and up, and no-gi options for both younger (4–8 years) and older children. Every session emphasizes drilling previously learned techniques and testing them in match-like situations. Private lessons and strength or mobility training are also available, allowing students to tailor their progress. The facility is wheelchair accessible, and drop-ins are welcome for most classes. Whether it’s a child learning their first takedown or an adult refining their guard game, IMMA’s approach remains rooted in practical skill-building and personal growth for the Livonia community.
