The academy is led by Richard Rangel, a third-degree black belt who began teaching as a purple belt in 2009 and has been active on the mats since 2000. Richard’s background includes collegiate teaching and a degree in health and fitness, and he is joined by co-owner Anna Rangel, who brings a competitive mindset from her own martial arts and athletic journey. The instructor team features several black belts, including David Rittel, Marques Daniels, Nathan Bonilla, Journey Newson, and others, each with their own story—from MMA and wrestling backgrounds to careers in education and emergency medicine. This diverse staff guides both adults and kids, with a focus on personal growth, technical understanding, and respect for training partners. Young students train in dedicated youth and kids’ Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes, building skills in a structured environment that emphasizes both discipline and enjoyment. Adults have access to fundamentals, advanced, and all-levels gi classes, as well as no-gi and kickboxing. The gym welcomes drop-ins and maintains a practical approach to etiquette and mat culture.
