Hendo BJJ

Hendo BJJ was founded to bring authentic Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to Hendersonville, guided by certified Rigan Machado instructors. The academy’s roots are grounded in the Machado lineage, one of the most respected names in BJJ, and its programs reflect a commitment to practical self-defense and technical progression for both kids and adults. The schedule at Hendo BJJ includes Kid-Jitsu®, a dedicated Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program for children that emphasizes discipline, confidence, and foundational skills in the gi. For adults, the gym offers a mix of traditional gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes, as well as instruction in MMA, combatives, and a Street Smart Vale Tudo self-defense course. This blend of offerings reflects the academy’s focus on both sport and real-world application, with classes structured to accommodate a range of interests and training goals. Located on Asheville Highway, Hendo BJJ welcomes drop-in students and maintains a wheelchair-accessible facility. The gym also hosts a Bible Study session, providing an additional opportunity for members to connect beyond the mats.
