Guerilla MMA

Guerilla MMA in Locust is led by a coaching team with deep experience across Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, MMA, wrestling, judo and striking. Brandon Davis has more than 25 years in martial arts, holds a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and competed in both jiu-jitsu and MMA before turning his attention to coaching. The academy also has experienced instructors across the rest of the room, including fourth-degree BJJ black belt Dave Mansel and judo black belt Carl Moore. The jiu-jitsu program includes adult gi and no-gi classes, open mat, an invite-only competition class and youth gi groups split by age. There is also a dedicated ladies-only Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu class. Wrestling and MMA striking are part of the weekly schedule, giving students a chance to work takedowns and stand-up alongside their grappling rather than treating those skills as separate from the academy’s training culture. For families, the youth program begins with ages 5–9 and continues with an older youth group, while youth MMA and striking add another option for kids who want broader martial arts training. For adults, the mix of gi, no-gi, wrestling, competition training and open mat creates plenty of ways to build a complete game. Guerilla MMA’s identity comes from that hands-on, multi-discipline approach and from coaches who have spent years competing and teaching in the Carolinas.
