Ground Game Theory Jiu Jitsu is a Miami academy specializing in no-gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and MMA for both adults and kids, rooted in the Westchester and University Park neighborhoods. Founded by black belts Carlmichael Leiva and Keanoush Amirizadeh—each with over a decade on the mats—the school is shaped by a modern, practical approach to grappling and a coaching staff with deep competitive and teaching backgrounds. Keanoush is particularly recognized for his leg lock expertise and pressure passing, while the broader team brings experience from striking, wrestling, and youth education, including instructors like Grey Marin, who combines a brown belt in BJJ with years as an elementary teacher. Training at Ground Game Theory centers on dynamic, live drilling and skill development in a fully no-gi environment. Adult classes run every day and are organized by experience level, from Foundations to Advanced, with dedicated open mat sessions for extra practice. The academy’s MMA program, led by multi-disciplinary coach Alex Calienes, blends striking and grappling in realistic, high-intensity sessions on Fridays and Sundays.
